This is the second year that the Entertainment Channel in the Philippines is hosting the E! Bloggers Ball, and I’m so happy to have experienced it! Co-presented by Ever Bilena Cosmetics, the E! Bloggers Ball brings together the country’s top influencers from all categories, including lifestyle, beauty, food, and travel.
Upon entering the event held at the Grand Ball in City of Dreams, myriad activities await the guests. From a photo booth shot personally by reknowned fashion photographer, Dookie Ducay, to the interactive video booth powered by 360 Selfie Ph, and a makeup booth from Ever Bilena’s EB Advance Affiliate MUAs, all a person needs to pull off a shoot fit for a magazine editorial was there!
I went with my fiancé, Jacob Munez; sister Dianne Sy; and close friends Erica Patricia Lao, Jillian Chua, Diane Yap, and Anna Mae Lamentillo. Everyone was excited with all the happenings!
I was also able to speak with NBC Universal’s Jamie Castillo who says that the 2017 event was much larger than the previous year’s; from 300 to a 500 people guest list, which included E! Channel’s celebrities like Ruffa Gutierrez from the hit show It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez. Regardless, Jamie shared that they follow a strict criteria for this invite-only gala, and bloggers really need to be credible, active, and continuously create relevant, engaging content among others to be part of the elite group.
Aside from the scrumptious food and the social aspect of the gathering, what attendees also looked forward to was the E! Bloggers Ball Awards.
Categories consist of: Look Who’s Trending (Male and Female), given to Will Dasovich and Jennica Sanchez. Breakthrough Blogger of the Year (Male and Female) to Dee Gee Razon and Nina Nuguid, respectively. Blogger Groupie of the Year awarded to the Soshal Network. Blogger Icon of the Year (Fashion) to Janina Velasco; (Food) to Erwan Heusaff for The Fat Kid Inside Me, and (Travel) to The Poor Traveler. Finally, the night’s Best Dressed Male and Female were Daniel Marsh and Kim Cruz.
Beyond all of the night’s festivities though, it’s really the social exchanges with close friends, and meeting new acquaintances and industry experts that really made the ball so worthwhile. I am so sure E! will continue to support the Philippines’ blogosphere in this way, and can’t wait for how they will top this year’s Blogger’s Ball on their next ones!
